A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services to set up 15 MW biomass project in Morinda

A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services is setting up a 15 MW biomass project in Morinda in Kainaur Road in Punjab. The project involves setting up of one biomass fired CFBC boiler, extraction cum condensing type steam turbine, electric generator and power evacuation systems. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 813 million. The boiler will intake paddy straw, bagasse or subabul. The project is likely to go operational in 2012.

Lakshmi Energy plans 180 MW biomass project in Khamnon

Project Location : Khamnon, Fatergarh district, Punjab
Project Capacity : 180 MW

Lakshmi Energy & Foods Ltd is setting up a 180 MW biomass power project in phases of 3x60 MW in Khamnon in Kaputhala district of Punjab. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 9000 million. The project is likely to go operational in December 2011. It is an expansion of already existing 30 MW plant at the same location. In December 2009, foundation stone was laid for Unit-I of the same. The power plant will use rice husk and other agri waste as fuel.

Green Planet Energy implementing 9 MW biomass power project in Deepsinghwala

Project Location : Deepsinghwala, Faridkot district, Punjab
Project Capacity : 9

Green Planet Energy Pvt. Ltd is setting up a 9 MW biomass power project in Deepsinghwala in Faridkot district of Punjab with an investment of Rs. 450 million. The project is likely to go operational in December 2011. The project was announced in May 2008 and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed. In October 2009, the company signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). Green Planet Energy is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed by a consortium of three companies-Kamala Mills Ltd, Darashaw Company and MPPL Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. to promote biomass based power projects. PEDA is the promoter for the project. Kamala Mills Ltd. and Darashaw & Company are the co-promoters for the same.

Green Planet Energy Pvt. Ltd is setting up a 13 MW biomass power project in Ramiana in Faridkot district of Punjab. The construction work for the project is underway and is likely to go operational in December 2011. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 650 million. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in July 2008 and a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed in October 2009. GPEPL is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed by a consortium of three companies-Kamala Mills Ltd., Darashaw & Company and MPPL Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. to execute biomass based power projects.
