Junagarh Power Projects Pvt Ltd is planning to invest Rs. 500 million to set up a 10 MW biomass based power generation project at Khokharda village under Vanthall taluka of Junagarh in Gujarat. The project is likely to go operational in September 2010. It may be noted, companies which are setting upto 15 MW power generation units with clean technology need not have to receive environment clearances.

Dwarikesh Sugar to set up 36 MW biomass project at villages Bhagwanpur, Fulwa and Bakarganj in Faridpur Tehsil in Barielly district of Uttar Pradesh. The project involves setting up of a cogneration unit based on Rankine cycle with a bagasse fired boiler, 2 numbers of steam turbine to generate 36 MW of power. Of this generated power, 24 MW will be sold to the state grid and the balance will be for captive consumption.

Biotor Industries to set up bio refinery for castor oil

Biotor Industries Ltd (formerly Jayant Oils and Derivatives Ltd) is planning to invest Rs. 20000 million to set up a bio refinery for castor oil and its derivatives. The plant is likely to come up on Vilayat near Bharuch in Gujarat and it has acquired 300 acres for its upcoming SEZ. It will also house a bio fertilizer unit, biogas plant, seed crushing and sebacic acid unit. The company will consume 2.70 lakh tonnes per annum of castor oil and its derivatives and it has entered into contract farming of over 100,000 acres. An IPO is on the cards for financing the project. The project is likely to be completed in 3 years time.
