A B Grain Spirits Ltd is setting up a 9 MW rice based power generation unit in Jawar in Ambala in Haryana. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 2500 million. MNRE sanctions grants for 3 biomass projects in Haryana

Ministry of Renewable Energy has sanctioned grants for 3 biomass projects in the state. Currently, it provides Rs.2 million for every MW for biomass generation projects. M/s Shri Vishnu Overseas, Kaithal, will receive Rs.3 million for its upcoming 1.5 MW  coming with an investment of Rs. 67.5 million. Kayem Food Industries in GT Road, Panipat and HP Basmati Rice in Karnal are setting up 0.5 MW biomass based power projects and will receive Rs. 1.0 million each. All these projects will become operational by end of 2010

Deepak Spinners had set up 5 MW biomass plant at Baddi

Deepak Spinners Ltd had set up 5 MW biomass plant at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh. The project involved setting up of rice husk based high pressure cogeneration plant with high pressure boiler (30 tph, 67 Kg/cm2, 4850C) and an extraction cum condensing turbine (5.0MW, 64 Kg/cm2, 4850C). Rice husk would be used as fuel in the project activity.
