Amrit Bio Energy plans 2.0 MW biomass project in Sagar Island

Amrit Bio Energy & Industries Ltd is planning to set up a 2.0 MW biomass power project in Sagar Island in South 24 Paragnas district of West Bengal with an investment of Rs. 100 million. The project is likely to go operational in January 2012. AES Corporation is the co- promoter for the project and the project was announced in October 2006 and land was acquired in May 2008. The company is awaiting to receive approval from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Power Ministry.
