The Company is currently developing a 12 MW, rice straw fired power generation plant, located in the state of Bihar. This project is situated in an area where sufficient fuel is available for the operation of the plant. The company has signed an agreement for the Owner’s engineer for the project and likely to commence construction by September. Due to slow industrialization in the region, competing uses of available biomass are few and hence fuel security less of a challenge. The site for setting up the plant has been identified and land acquisition process for the project has been initiated. The power sale from the projects is envisaged to sold as a mix of sale to state utility and merchant sale. The project is expected to generate ~ 74 MUs of energy and ~ 63,000 CERs per annum. The project shall be operational from December 2012.
