Lakshmi Energy and Foods to set up 53 MW biomass plant

Lakshmi Energy and Foods, which is currently running up a 30 MW plant at Khamanon (around 45 kms from Chandigarh) is planning to add another unit of 53 MW. This will entail an investment of Rs.2000 million and likely to be met from internal accruals and debt. The new plant unit will become operational in 2 years time. The plant will use multi-fuel technology, but will majorly use rice husk, which the company generates as it is the largest processor of paddy in Punjab.

JCT Ltd to set up 8 MW cogeneration power plant at Phagwara

JCT Ltd to set up 8 MW cogeneration power plant at Phagwara in Jalandhar district of Punjab. Rice husk and coal will be used as fuel. The fuel requirement is estimated as 12.5 tonnes/hour for rice husk and 7.5 tonnes/hour for coal. Water requirement is estimated as 1500 m3/day. The waste water will be partly used for ash quenching and partly will be disposed after treatment. Groundwater will be used for the project.

Agro Dutch Industries Ltd to set up 6.4 MW Co-gen plant at Tofapur in Patiala

Agro Dutch Industries Ltd to set up 6.4 MW Co-gen plant at Tofapur in Patiala district of Punjab. Two boilers of 30 TPH steam generation will be installed. Rice husk or coal used as fuel. Land requirement is estimated as 3 acres. The requirement of the rice husk is 15 TPH and coal 9 TPH. Rice husk will be used for almost 9 months and for the remaining three months coal will be used. Water requirement is estimated as 200 kld, which will be obtained from groundwater.
